Tyne Valley Alliance
In 2009 six clubs – Allendale, Garesfield, Prudhoe, Ryton, Stocksfield and Tynedale - formed a golf alliance.
They had two main objectives - to offer their own members the added benefit of enjoying free games of golf and to share information on golf club expenditures that would help each other reduce their costs.
After 3 successful years Consett Golf Club were invited to join the Alliance and accepted the invitation and joined at the beginning of the 2012 season.
In April 2012 Haltwhistle Golf Club were invited to join and were welcomed on board in July 2012
Now into the fifth year members from each of the 8 clubs can enjoy one free games of golf at the seven other courses. The scheme offers over £120 of free green fees and provides added value for money especially in the current economic claimant. After you free game you can return as often as you like by paying a reduced green fee of only £8.
Games can be booked between Monday and Friday although it is possible to sometimes book a game on a Saturday but you must always check with the club beforehand.
The clubs share information on costs for items they all have to purchase such as score cards, fixtures books and other printed materials. Others areas they will cover in the future will include bar services – beers, wines, coffee etc and course requisites.
